Campfire Cooking: Desserts

There’s just something different about food cooked over a fire. It could be the smell of wood smoke, the light ash seasoning, or maybe it’s the stories that get told as everyone works together to cook something yummy. This week we will focus our attention towards desserts. We will even make a unique cookbook to document our Schoolhouse creations. Maybe if you’re lucky campers will recreate them back home! One thing is for sure by the end of the week, your child will be a campfire connoisseur, acquiring the knowledge necessary to build an effective cooking fire and the experience of cooking a number of recipes.

*Communal snacks will be offered during this camp. Parents, please be sure to include any dietary or allergy concerns when you register so we can plan our menu to ensure the safety and comfort of the entire group.

*In addition to the theme-related activities listed above, every week of camp will include some classic Schoolhouse activities such as: morning and closing circle, water time (weather permitting), deep woods and field games, whittling, storytelling, and of course, looking for any critters we can find.
