All of our lives have dramatically shifted in response to the coronavirus pandemic. But our mission to create kind, curious, and confident kids through nature-based outdoor adventures hasn’t — it just can’t be in person right now.
We’re so excited to try something new together. Schoolhouse at Your House is a series of interactive online ‘camps’ for your 5-12 year olds to connect (or reconnect!) with camp friends and staff, craft and create, be encouraged to try new things, build skills, connect with nature, complete missions, and more.
Each camp week will have a unique theme, projects, missions, and crafts that campers can engage on their own schedule (or yours), at their own pace, and guided by their own interests. Each day new projects and challenges will be posted, campers choose what to explore, work as independently as they’re able to on their activity, and connect with staff and other campers by posting videos on a secure educational platform. Your child might choose to share a bird’s nest they found on a neighborhood walk, what they think the goofiest animal is, or the nature mandala they carefully crafted. Every week is different, but we hope that the Schoolhouse sense of community, connection, and wonder will be familiar.
Schoolhouse at Your House camps will typically involve our classic activities like:
- Storytelling and Songs
- How-Tos and Instruction
- Nature and Outside Projects
- Crafts and Inside Projects
- Plenty of silliness
Internet access and a camera and/or a computer with video and audio capabilities is required.
