Out of the Woodwork Photo Gallery
Woodcarving is a great outlet for the imagination and this advanced woodworking week gave campers a chance to deepen their skills. With good tools, a piece of wood, and a bit of patience, campers were able to practice their hand at new techniques and crafting new creations. Whether focusing on precise carving, carving animal figurines, or using fire to carve out spoons and bowls, this week provided the chance for campers to improve their whittling and woodworking skills.

Secret Spy-der Photo Gallery
This week, we learned from our 8-legged friends as we honed our spider-craft and spy-craft! Becoming codebreakers and the best “spy-ders” we could be! We practiced our agility with the web maze, passed through the woods without a trace, and worked friends to solve any riddle that came our way! It was a week of mysteries and clues, running, hopping, jumping, and wading through the week to be a Secret Spy-Der.

In our Hurricane Debby shortened week, we had a super fun time making fires on Tuesday, and playing some of our favorite Schoolhouse games like Six Feathers, Kneecoup, Camouflage, and Bum Bum Bum! It might have been Schoolhouse’s first Democratic Wednesday, and our vote to play a big game of 6 Feathers with the 7-9s ended up being a hit. We splashed around in the creek and the rain, and kept our spirits high despite not getting a full week of fun in the sun.

Survival of the Century Photo Gallery
In our survival themed week, we had loads of fun searching the woods and the creeks for all sorts of cool animals and nature finds! We built forts that we tried to make Hurricane Debby proof, whittled, climbed vines at Viney Village, and had so much fun putting mud all over one of our counselors! Our favorite games were Werewolf, Monster Mash, and Six Feathers. Although this week was cut short, it was still a great time spent together in the woods – we survived Hurricane Debby!

This week, Hurricane Debby wasn’t able to be a Debby downer on us! We loved our pine cone themed stories for games like Sachamambasnake, Northern Water Snake and Scout Mission, and of course during story time. We loved the swinging vines we found at Piney Path, and had a lot of fun searching the creek for critters and cool rocks. With the help of our wonderful CIT and counselors, we had a blast playing fun games like Kneecoup in the rain!

Learning to survive in the woods? Success! This week we tried our hand at building waterproof shelters, cooking over a campfire, using a compass, fishing (with homemade poles), and so much more. When we weren’t learning how to survive in the wild, we were exploring the forest and playing epic games with our friends.

Forest Sleuths Photo Gallery
This week was filled with mystery, clue-finding, and treasure hunting! Our forest sleuths unlocked the mystery of stolen treasure and found it for themselves, buried in the woods for them to find! When we weren’t solving mysteries, we were playing action-packed games, searching for critters in the creek, and exploring the world around us with our new found friends.
