Field Trip Pricing

Full Day Field Trip: $12/student

Title I Schools Pricing

Full Day Field Trip for qualified schools: $6/student
Payment
The full balance is due 14 days before your scheduled trip. If your field trip is being scheduled fewer than 14 days in advance, an alternate due date will be provided.

The full balance is based on the final student count confirmed by our field trip team. Refunds are not given for fewer students attending.

We accept checks and credit cards.

Please note: The booking teacher or school is responsible for payment of the full balance. No refunds are given if fewer students attend than the final confirmed number. Up to 10 students over the confirmed number may attend without charge. Additional students will require payment.
Deposit
Cancellations & Rescheduling
If you need to reschedule your field trip:

You may request to reschedule at any time, but all reschedule requests are subject to availability.

If you need to cancel your field trip:

14+ days before your trip → Refund of any payments made.

Less than 14 days before your trip → 50% refund of any payments made. If no payment has been made before the cancellation, a charge of 50% of the payment will still be owed.
Minimums
Weather & Safety
If Schoolhouse of Wonder cancels due to severe weather or unsafe conditions, you may choose a full refund or reschedule at no cost.

If the school or group cancels for weather reasons not deemed unsafe by us, our regular cancellation policy applies. A rescheduled date may be offered but is dependent on availability.

Where can I see your full Field Trip Policies?

You can read our full Field Trip Policies here. By booking a field trip, you are agreeing to all policies including payment and cancellation policies.
What happens if it rains on the day of our Field Trip?

Our Field Trips do take place completely outdoors, and we are happy to run Field Trips in a light rain if you and your students don’t mind. We ask that all teachers make sure their students come dressed appropriately for the weather. However, we are not able to run Field Trips in severe weather or thunderstorms. We will monitor the weather forecast closely leading up to the day of your Field Trip, and if the weather looks bad then we will contact you to discuss options, including rescheduling the Field Trip for the next available date.
How long will the Field Trip last? Is there any flexibility on this?
Do you offer in-school Field Trips?
Should we bring lunches for the students or is lunch provided? Where can we eat lunch at the park?

Schoolhouse does not provide lunch for Field Trips, so teachers should arrange for students to bring their own lunches. We highly recommend students also bring a water bottle. During a typical Field Trip, there will be a 30 minute lunch break in a designated eating area.
What is a typical schedule for a Field Trip?
A typical Schoolhouse Field Trip day will break down as follows (although we are flexible on start and end times):

9:30am to 11am: Group welcome and first program (Native Ways, Early American Life, Forest Ecosystems, Insect Adventures, or Eno Plant Walk)

11am to 11:30am: Lunch and restrooms

11:30am to 1pm: Second program

1pm to 1:30pm: Closing Story

Our field trips are designed to encourage curiosity and connection with nature. They typically occur 100% outdoors and involve walking on uneven terrain, sitting on grass or dirt, and spending the day in the temperature of the outdoors that day.

Students, teachers, and chaperones are encouraged to wear clothes appropriate for the weather and shoes for walking on uneven trails.
