From learning to use a compass to setting up a tent, campers learned all the essentials to set out on their own backpacking trips! Another highlight of our week was catching a feisty Northern Watersnake down at the creek. It seems like the colder weather brought out Umstead’s reptiles as our group came across multiple turtles.
