The Marketing and Communications Coordinator helps more Triangle families discover Schoolhouse of Wonder and keeps our supporters connected to the work they make possible. In this new full-time role, you’ll create communications for outdoor camps, field trips, teen leadership programs, fundraising, and staff recruitment. You’ll report to the CEO and work with staff across the organization to turn what’s happening at Schoolhouse into clear, engaging stories.
Your work will help a parent picture their child at camp, a donor understand the difference their gift made, and a future staff member see a place for themselves at Schoolhouse.
As a Marketing and Communications Coordinator, you’ll be spending your time:
- Promoting enrollment in Schoolhouse’s outdoor camps, field trips, and teen leadership programs;
- Planning and sending Mailchimp campaigns, managing email lists, and tailoring messages to different audiences;
- Writing donor appeals, thank-you messages, and stories that show the impact of our work;
- Creating recruitment campaigns for approximately 100 seasonal staff members each year;
- Gathering and sharing photos, videos, and stories from our programs;
- Planning and promoting Schoolhouse events.
This is a new role on a small team, so the work will change throughout the year. You might be promoting camp registration one week and working on a donor appeal or staff recruitment the next. As the work develops, this position could grow into a manager role.
