Whether searching the forest floor for critters or building rock structures in the creek, our Newt campers had a blast exploring Umstead State Park. We learned a bit about amphibious habitats and built our own forest habitats (forts!). We sang songs, listened to stories, and learned the basics of whittling with potato peelers. We played a bunch of different games, like Dragon’s Egg and Beckon. And no week at Schoolhouse would be complete without catching a few crayfish and a few snakes! It was a fun-filled week. Take a look at the photo gallery below to see how ended each day dirty, tired, and happy!
