Questions to Ask Your Wilderness Skills Camper – Tuesday

If you’re wondering what your camper has been up to this week, here are some questions to get the conversation started…

GNARLY STUMP CAMP (Matt and Joe’s Group)

  1. Yesterday, you started off your Wildness Skills week by practicing fire-making and whittling. What components are needed to make a fire? Did you start any whittling projects?
  2. On Monday your group played a big game of Six feathers with the Turtle group. Did you steal anyone’s tail or capture a feather? What are some ways that you can play this game with honor?
  3. Today you went to Jumping Rock! Did you jump off of the rock? Did you cheer on your friends while floating in the water?

TURTLE CAMP (Kaylyn’s Group)

  1. Yesterday you started off your Wildness Skills week by learning how to use compasses on an orienteering course. What did you learn about how compasses work? How did they lead you from one location to another?
  2. On Monday your group played a big game of Six feathers with the Turtle group. Did you steal anyone’s tail or capture a feather? What are some ways that you can play this game with honor?
  3. Today you went on an excursion to Sennett’s Hole and heard a story from one of your counselors. What did you do while you were at Sennett’s hole? What was your favorite part of this special water time spot?
