Questions to Ask Your Winter Village Camper – Thursday

If you’re wondering what your camper has been up to this week, here are some questions to get the conversation started…

  1. In addition to building our village, campers have also had the opportunity to work on personalizing their very own hiking stick. What characteristics did you look for to find your stick? What is special about your stick? How did you decorate your stick?
  2. Our creative and ingenious campers have created some pretty amazing tools and toys made entirely out of natural materials. What tools or toys did you make this week? What did you use to make them? How did the materials help you decorate or protect the village?
  3. Building and creating our village isn’t the only thing we’ve done this week. We have also dabbled with games and other activities. What has been your favorite game or activity you have done in the village so far? What did you learn? What do you think could have made the game or activity better?
  4. Stories were a very important part of life in Native American villages. This week we have had the opportunity to listen to some great tales. Which story was your favorite? Did the story make you happy, excited, sad, or scared? Did you learn a lesson from this story? If so, what was the lesson?
