This week we beat the heat by splashing in the creek, exploring nature around us, and playing fun Schoolhouse games together! We found all sorts of fun critters from crawdads to clams – and even a rare rough green snake. And of course, there was no shortage of mud balls, mud face paint, and mud art! This week was sure one to remember…

(Growth) Ring in the Start of Summer Photo Gallery
The title of this week was no joke – we earned a ton of growth rings! From practicing fires on Thursday, making plant presses on Tuesday, to whittling and finding snakes throughout the week, we gained valuable skills and had the time of our lives. Along the way we splashed and explored in the creek, climbed epic vines in Viney Village, and played an incredible game of Six Feathers on Democratic Friday!

This week, we played all the big Schoolhouse games, including Six Feathers, Sock Wars, Defeat the Lich, and even our own new version…Return of the Lich! Our campers bonded this week over crawdads in the creek, turtles under logs, and many snake finds including multiple black rat snakes and a queen snake! Some of us earned growth rings, and all of us had a blast!

Lots of adventures were had underneath the oak trees this week at camp! Whether they were used as coverage during a hide-and-seek game, a key location to find cool bugs, or a means of shade for resting after creek time, our forest full of oaks played a key part.

It’s all fun and games out here in the woods! This week campers played many classic schoolhouse games and tried their hand at other classic schoolhouse activities like whittling, fort building, and fire making! When they weren’t sneaking, running, and hiding they were splashing, laughing, and finding lots of fun treasures!

This group had an epic adventure in the woods! We learned skills like pitching a tent, hanging a bear bag, baking over a fire, and so much more. Campers tried their hand at primitive fire making and even practiced first aid scenarios. When they were honing their skills, they were splashing in the creek, petting turtles, and playing lots of games!
