Our Cicada campers hiked, played, and splashed their way through this exciting week of camp. Games were a big hit this week and we played Eagle Eye, Werewolf, and Kick the Can. But the favorite game of the week had to be Doxeneye–it’s tough to keep a straight face when a whole group of campers is trying to make you laugh! Of course, no week at Schoolhouse would be complete without some fort-building and plenty of water time. It was a delightful week of camp together. Take a look at the photos below to see some of the fun!
This kind and curious group of campers had a ton of fun exploring Umstead State Park this week. We whittled, built forts, played hiding and running games, looked for critters, splashed in the creek, and much more! Story-telling was a highlight for many campers this week as staff told both tall tales and true stories from their own lives. Check out the photos from this week to see some of the fun!
This incredibly excited and creative group really took this week’s theme to heart. We built everything from tiny toad abodes and fairy houses to large structures we grouped into a village. Our structures were sturdy and functional (one even sporting a working door!) as well as creative and whimsical. We also took some time to play some classic Schoolhouse games like Six Feathers and Windigo and cooled off each day in the creek. We looked for critters and were not disappointed. We even found a large black rat snake! Take a look at the photos below to see the fun!
This week in camp we practiced our outdoor photography and journaling skills. You can even see some of our work in this gallery! A few of the photos have initials in the corner of the image and those initials represent the camper who took that photo. We love the memories we created in photos, journals, and in all of the awesome games we played!
Whittling! Forts! Games! Oh my! We had a blast closing out our summer season with this awesome group of campers. We explored the trails and creeks of Umstead State Park, made new friends, sang songs, heard stories, and much more. We found several critters, including a box turtle that was a highlight for many campers. Take a look at the photos below to see some of the fun.
This wild and creative bunch of campers was an excellent way to close our summer at Umstead State Park. They ran in the fields, hid in the woods, splashed in the creeks and much more. We spent our week playing some classic Schoolhouse games like Beckon, building forts, and looking for critters. Take a look at the photos below to see how we ended our summer season dirty, tired, and happy!
