Carnival of Creators (Buffalo) Photo Gallery
This week campers unleashed their creativity as we created our own forest carnival! We gathered inspiration and ideas and dove head-first into projects like designing our own forest carnival games, puzzles, and all that our imaginations could dream up. And a carnival isn’t complete without food! The smell of dough cooked over an open fire wafted through the forest as we worked to make the best carnival we could dream up!

Growth Rings: Seeking Skills Photo Gallery
Dive into the four growth rings of Schoolhouse: Fire Building, Snake Identification, Whittling, and Plant Identification. Campers had a chance to hone their understanding of the natural world, build their skills and knowledge, and dedicate time to building their craft. In fire skills, campers practiced fire building skills from starting a fire all the way up to friction fires. Our whittling Growth Ring challenged campers to learn the basic safety rules to hand carving utensils like knives and spoons. Plant and snake rings gave campers a chance to expand their knowledge on the ecology of the Eno.

Secret Spy-der Photo Gallery
This week, we learned from our 8-legged friends as we honed our spider-craft and spy-craft! Becoming codebreakers and the best “spy-ders” we could be! We practiced our agility with the web maze, passed through the woods without a trace, and worked friends to solve any riddle that came our way! It was a week of mysteries and clues, running, hopping, jumping, and wading through the week to be a Secret Spy-Der.

Out of the Woodwork Photo Gallery
Woodcarving is a great outlet for the imagination and this advanced woodworking week gave campers a chance to deepen their skills. With good tools, a piece of wood, and a bit of patience, campers were able to practice their hand at new techniques and crafting new creations. Whether focusing on precise carving, carving animal figurines, or using fire to carve out spoons and bowls, this week provided the chance for campers to improve their whittling and woodworking skills.
