Description
This week is focused on a unique Schoolhouse tradition – Growth Rings! Campers will learn new naturalist skills and have a chance to earn Growth Rings to show off their hard work, new knowledge, and hard earned skills. Each day will be focused on a different set of skills including whittling, fire building, and plant identification. Campers can try their hand at starting a fire using primitive methods, identify the iconic plants of the forest, and get focused on a woodcraft project. Whether your camper has earned a heap of Growth Rings or is just starting out, this all-encompassing week of fun and learning will give them a chance to work toward the next challenge and the next Growth Ring!
In addition to the theme-related activities listed above, every week of camp may include some classic Schoolhouse activities such as: morning and closing circle, water time, deep woods and field games, whittling, storytelling, and of course, looking for any critters we can find!
