Description

This week, campers will learn what it takes to survive in style. We'll walk campers through the steps of primitive firebuilding using quartz and steel. We'll have them try their hand at shelter building before running tests to see how they would hold up in the elements. They will even go on nature rambles to learn about Umstead's local edible plants! In addition to the theme-related activities listed above, every week of camp may include some classic Schoolhouse activities such as: morning and closing circle, water time, deep woods and field games, whittling, storytelling, and of course, looking for any critters we can find!
