Description
Does your camper have what it takes to survive in the wilderness? This week, campers will work to improve their survival skills under the forest canopy of Umstead State Park. They will learn to build fire structures and how to light them using quartz and steel, how to build shelters and platforms using knots and lashings, and how to identify the local plants of Umstead.
In addition to the theme-related activities listed above, every week of camp may include some classic Schoolhouse activities such as: morning and closing circle, water time, deep woods and field games, whittling, storytelling, and of course, looking for any critters we can find!
