2nd Annual Brumley Family Fun Day

Get outside — and bring your family too!

We are so excited about our Orange County site that we want to share it with y’all! Come on out to Brumley Forest Nature Preserve for an afternoon of nature hikes, games, exploring the forest and fields, and much more for parents and kids! This is also a great chance to come see the site of our summer camps, meet our staff, and get answers to any questions you might have about our programs.

This event is located at the ‘Schoolhouse Entrance’ to Brumley Forest Nature Preserve,  at 3223 New Hope Church Rd, Chapel Hill, NC. This is the gate just south of New Hope Church Rd and Old NC-10. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us or give us a call at 919-477-2116.

This event is free and open to the public, but does require an RSVP as space is limited. To sign up for this event, please fill out the form below or click here

Fun Day Events

1 pm: Join us for an introduction to whittling (we’ve got plenty of sticks, peelers will be provided), a bug hunt ramble, and some storytelling. These activities will be located near both the parking area and bathroom.

2 pm: We’ll be heading out on a short hike to check out the pond and will keep our eyes peeled for frogs, turtles, beavers, and any other critters we can find.

3 pm: Games galore! We’ll be exploring Brumley Forest and playing some classic Schoolhouse games in the forests and fields. Get ready for some sneaking, hiding, running, and fun!
