We had an amazing time creating our new games! Brumley Forest was the landscape for running and tagging, strategy, rolling, and even a trial. It was incredible to see each camper’s creativity in creating and trying out new games in the forest and the field. Our fun didn’t stop there – campers got to see plenty of amazing critters including a humongous crayfish, a dobsonfly larva, salamanders, and a black rat snake. When we weren’t playing games we were cooling off in the creek with some dam building, splashing, and crayfish catching. Check our pictures to get a glimpse of what a fun week we had!

Our little fireflies lit up Brumley Forest with their excitement and enthusiasm this week! They explored the woods and played running, sneaking, and hiding games. We took our nets down to the creek and caught a bunch of different critters like crayfish, mussels, and bugs. We even saw a Northern water snake! Of course, we rounded out our camp week with plenty of fort-building, storytelling, whittling, and singing. Check out the photo gallery to see some highlights.
Ribbit, chirp, tra-la-la…it’s the sounds of summer! Our Summer Songs campers had a delightful week of listening to the tunes of nature and joining in with some of their own. Whether learning frog calls, sitting quietly at “sit spots,” or creating new fun songs, these kids really lived up to their theme this week. When not singing along to the songs of summer, the campers rounded out their week by playing Schoolhouse classics like Kick the Can and Scout Mission and spent some time each day cooling off in the creek where they caught critters like snakes and crayfish.
Our Growth Rings campers had an exciting and unique week. In addition to Schoolhouse classics like playing Windigo and splashing around in the river and creeks, our campers stretched themselves and learned new things. Whether focusing on honing their whittling skills, learning to make primitive fires, identifying plants, or hunting for snakes, the campers experienced a week of activities that highlighted some of the things we love to do here at Schoolhouse of Wonder. It was a great week!
Woodpecker campers had a delightful week! They played games like Sock Wars, Bum Bum Bum, and Park Ranger. They explored the trails and woods near their camps, searching for critters and building forts. They also took the opportunity to cool off in the creeks and river during these hot summer days.
