Whether splashing about in the creeks and river, running through the forest, or listening to counselors spin stories, our Magnolia campers kept busy this camp week. We played a variety of games, like Caribou, Scout Mission and Beckon. We learned about whittling, searched for critters and made fairy homes and forts. Our Wild Plants and Herbs campers had a busy week full of all kinds of nature. Of course, like every week, we enjoyed the woods and creeks of Umstead State Park, but this week we dug a little deeper into all that Nature has to offer us. We learned about plant identification and put those new skills to use making our own jewelweed skin balm. We even experimented with some natural blueberry dyes (with some…mixed results…). We had a blast and learned some new things along the way. Take a look at our photos to see some of the fun!
