This 2-day Winter Archer camp was filled with target practice and classic Schoolhouse fun and games! We practiced our archery skills each day by shooting at traditional targets, swinging targets, balloons and some homemade piñatas made with paper maché! We got to hike through the park and make tasty treats like s’mores and dough boys. We also voted to play some favorite games such as Sock Wars and Storm the Castle! Check out the photo gallery to see all the fun we had during this 2-day camp.
This week’s Heart of the Flame camp was all about fire and staying warm in the winter weather. We tried our hand at primitive fire-making techniques, such as Bow Drills and Quartz and Steel. We also enjoyed tasty treats over a campfire. When not enjoying the crackle of our fires, we stayed warm by running around and playing some classic Schoolhouse games such as Windigo, Sock Wars, and Bakweli. It was a jam-packed 3 days and we sure made the most of it! Check out the photos in our photo gallery to see some of the fun!

The rain couldn’t hold us back from a great time at camp! Wild Winter Camp was all about trying new things and encouraging each other along the way. We played new games like Wild Survival, and Dizzy Baseball that tested our cooperation as a group. We challenged ourselves by balancing on a slack line, and floating down a zipline in the forest. When needed, we retreated back to shelter for indoor games, arts and crafts, & stories. Two of the biggest highlights of the week were the delicious treats we cooked over the camp fire, and the puddle-jumping in the mud every chance we could get. Here a few photos from our fun-filled four days in Wild Winter Camp!

Rock slings, atlatls, and blow darts, oh my! It was a wild week in primitive projectiles camp. We learned the basics of all kinds of primitive projectiles and got to practice using them safely. When we weren’t flinging and slinging, we explored the woods and trails of Harris Lake County Park. We played games that required sneaking, running, and teamwork like Beckon and Kick the Can. Some whittling, fort building, and arts & crafts filled any time we had left over. Check out the photos below to see how we ended our week dirty, tired, and happy!
Running, sneaking, trivia and hiding. Group, individual and team. We had games of all kinds this week! Our campers not only spent their time together playing games like Beckon and Windigo, they explored the trails and woods of Umstead State Park, learned to identify trees, practiced fire-building, and much more. It was a full week of adventures and strategy and we had a blast together. Take a look at the photos below to see how we ended each day dirty, tired, and happy!
