This week was all about growth as our campers worked on their growth rings skills. We built roaring fires, whittled, searched for snakes, identified plants, and even tried navigating with compasses! Of course, we also had time for lots of games and cooling off in the creek.

From shelter building to fire making to navigating with compasses, our campers learned how to not only survive in the forest, but thrive too! We saw cool critters in the creek, raced through the forest, and developed friendships along the way.

Our campers became fine feathered friends this week as we explored the forest! We splashed in the creek, jumped over logs, and even made bird feeders out of pinecones.

Schoolhouse has a long tradition of passing down wilderness survival skills to our campers. Throughout this week we practiced fire building, shelter construction, and other outdoor skills! Whether campers started the session just getting interested in survival skills or were ready to live off the land, this week was a blast!

In this exciting camp, we learned about and had a chance to try projectiles from around the world — bows and arrows, spears, atl-atls, and tomahawks. We designed our own targets, practiced honing in our aim, and worked to connect our body and mind.

This week campers made rafts out of natural grasses and practiced their weaving skills. Along with these themed activities, campers had a chance to build forts, splash in the creek, relax during storytelling, explore the forests and fields, try their hand at whittling, and of course, play some amazing Schoolhouse games!
