If you’re curious about what your child has been up to in camp this week, here are some questions to get the conversation started…
- We began our Old Timey Adventures with whittling and plant identification Monday morning. Why were both of these extremely useful skills to have during that time period? Name 1 of the plants you learned to identify. Did you learn anything interesting about the plant?
- Marbles is a very old game. The group learned how to play marbles and even took a few home to play on their own. We even learned a little bit of marble lingo. What does each term mean: lagging, friendlies vs keepsies, shooter, knuckle down?
lagging= shooting to see who goes first usually aimed at a straight line
friendlies vs. keepsies= returning marbles after the game or keeping the marbles you win.
shooter= large marble that is used to shoot at other marbles
knuckle down= 1 knuckle must remain on the ground while shooting
- Tuesday we began our day by canoeing and fishing. Which one did you like better? Why did you like it better? Was one more challenging than the other?
