August 4-8: Swan Photo Gallery
Swan campers had some unique adventures this week! They got to experience some brand-new water time activities and challenge themselves with special crafts. We played our fair share of classic games too, and campers got to splash and play in the puddles at the end of the week. This week was a beautiful send-off for our summer season here at Schenck.

This week, we completed quests set by the forest itself to unlock the natural secrets and treasures hidden all around us. The campers puzzled over riddles, built tools to aid their quest, and discovered all the magic there was to find. We ended the week with an epic day full of puddle splashing and puzzle solving.
August 4-8: Camouflage Photo Gallery
This week, we climbed and blended into trees like squirrels, used plants to make natural tie dye, and were even able to use forest materials to make masks that we wore to play a hiding and seeking game. By learning to fox walk, talking about turtles, and playing lots of games, we practiced our camouflage skills to become masters of disguise!

This week we used our imaginations to transform the forest into our own village! All it took was sticks, rocks, leaves, and some creativity. When we weren’t building or discussing important things in our town hall meetings, we were playing games, making new friends, or having fun at the creek.

August 4-8: Barred Owl Photo Gallery
Barred Owls are the silent hunters of the forest, swooping in to surprise their prey. This week campers tried their hand at games utilizing stealth. We also tried to chat with some barred owls to see if they would answer back. And in Duke Forest we had the chance to build forts, splash in the creek, relax during storytelling, explore the forests, whittle, and of course, play some amazing Schoolhouse games!

This week was dedicated to the design and construction of forest fortresses, castles, and structures big and small! A classic Schoolhouse activity took center stage as we built with branches, logs, rocks, clay, and other materials we found in the forest.

Once upon a time there were three little campers in the forest. They read books and did crafts. They played in the puddles and explored the pond. They enjoyed the rainy weather and wore their pink raincoats until they went home each night. It was a great week for our campers, and you can see their photos here!
