August 10-14: Growth Rings: The Strength Within Photo Gallery
Our campers had an absolute blast in this growth rings themed week! They learned all about skills such as whittling, fire building, and plant identification. In addition, they had a blast splashing in the river, building dams, and playing some epic games!

What a talented week it was in the forest! Campers this week spent time putting together a talent show. They built a stage, made costumes, perfected their act, and performed in front of their fellow campers. When campers weren’t preparing for the talent show they spent time whittling, going on nature rambles, and exploring the creek!

What a busy week our campers had! Campers spent time this week improving their fire building and whittling skills! They spent time learning about different fire structures and testing for growth rings! They also enjoyed spending time building forts, splashing in the creek, and playing Schoolhouse classics like Werewolf and Bakweli!

This week, campers learned all about the Common Five Line Skink that is native to our forest. They played exciting games like Skink Tag and Kick the Can. Campers went on nature rambles in search of cool plants and interesting creatures. They also enjoyed spending time building forts, whittling, and splashing in the creek!

Deep within Brumley Forest, we explored the remnants of a time long past. We followed twisting trails to discover ruined houses, overgrown gardens, crumbling walls, and other relics left behind by the forest’s former occupants. With curiosity and respect, we uncovered clues that offered a glimpse into the land’s mysterious past.

This week, we put our wilderness survival skills to the test! We practiced stealth and camouflage, built shelters, navigated with maps and compasses, and learned how to identify plants that were safe to eat. It was a week full of hands-on learning, patience, teamwork, and adventure!

Our youngest campers experienced the magic and wonder of nature through creativity and play! Inspired by the beautiful Swallowtail Butterfly, they explored sunny meadows, searched for colorful flowers, discovered the wonders of the outdoors, and created vibrant friendship bracelets inspired by the colors of nature. From playful adventures to creative discoveries, campers spread their wings, made new friends, and celebrated a wonderful week of growth, exploration, and fun!
