Squirrel campers enjoyed an exciting week full of games, songs, stories, new friends, and adventures of all kinds! They learned how to play games like Beckon, Werewolf, and Sock Wars. Some found interesting critters during water time, including snakes, frogs, and crayfish. Campers were able to explore both the Eno River and various creeks, enjoying different spots to cool off on these hot summer days.
Wild Architect campers lived up to their name this week, enhancing their forest base camps with forts and structures of all kinds. They learned about different types of natural building techniques and spent time perfecting their designs. They also played games like Six Feathers, encountered snakes and other animals and traveled to special places on the river like Secret Beach and Sennett’s Hole.
Sapling campers had an exceptional week! They enjoyed games like Sock Wars and Dragon’s Egg out in the big field, splashed around in the Eno, and built new friendships. Most notably, our campers had the opportunity to see amazing wildlife like baby deer, skinks, baby salamanders, and crayfish.
Our Dreamcatcher campers had a huge week! They traveled to the Amphitheatre to play Scout Mission and Bum Bum Bum. They enjoyed Windigo and Attack-and-Defend in the Big Woods, visited Sennett’s Hole and Secret Beach, and focused on writing in their journals. The week culminated in a unique overnight stay at the park where they enjoyed playing Werewolf in the Big Woods with flashlights, and twilight swimming in the Eno.
Our Way of the Bow campers enjoyed an exciting camp week full of games, whittling, and archery. Our young archers practiced their shooting technique in our forest archery range. In addition to a swinging target and balloons, the campers spent time designing their own targets on paper plates. The campers were also able to explore the different creeks and the river during water time.
