Adventure was had as the group enjoyed a variety of activities throughout Umstead State Park. Each camper had a chance to explore a multitude of new skills and activities this week. Campers explored the woods of Umstead State Park this week and discovered deer bones, crawfish, fun games, new friends, and more! By the end of the week the group wrangled a turtle and multiple Northern Water Snakes!

Campers really put their Outdoor Survival Skills to the test this week, having to utilize them in both rain and shine! This included using knots to build boats, learning to start fires, and identifying edible plants that grow within Umstead State Park!

Umstead’s forest was not the only thing campers guarded this week! Whether it was protecting themselves from the Lich as they searched for her heart or preventing their feathers being stolen during Six Feathers, everyone took their job as guardian very seriously this week!

Campers made sure to make this week count as they did a little bit of everything! The group had a chance to work on their whittling growth rings, played Defeat the Lich, Bakweli, and partook in many other Schoolhouse classics too!

The group had many uses for the Cedar Tree as they played in Umstead State Park this week! They used it’s leaves for cedar ceremonies, made art projects out of it’s wood, and hid in it’s shade when playing games and splashing in the creek!
