Fowl Play Photo Gallery
This week we learned all about our feathery friends – and other fun animals in the forest! Even during a rainy week, we had time to splash in the creek, play lots of games in the woods, and even got to pet a snake! We left this week with new friends, a smile on our face, and mud on our clothes!

Butterfly Photo Gallery
This week we flapped our wings and soared! We splashed in the creek, played silly games, and even made our very own caterpillars that turned into butterflies. We may have started off as little caterpillars, but by the end of the week we were flapping our wings in the breeze as confident butterflies!

Finding Your Way! Photo Gallery
This crew went all over Umstead State Park this week as they searched for the Spa City treasure! While it was never found, everyone had a spectacular time turning the whole week into an adventure story as they found new base camps, discovered creek spots, and did lots of whittling and fire building.

Growth Rings with Gusto Photo Gallery
Over 20 growth rings were earned this week as the group dove into all four categories with gusto! Baby Northern Water Snakes were found at the creek, they were able to whittle kindling for their fire building, and enjoyed a snack of Sourwood Tree Leaves whenever they needed a break.

Campers enjoyed their time under the oak trees as they played camouflage, tree tag, and beckon this week at camp! When the rain required a stronger shelter than the Oak leaves, the group enjoyed many board games, stories, and friendship bracelets under the Loblolly Shelter.

Growth Rings: All Encompassing Photo Gallery
This week was all about growth as our campers worked on their growth rings skills. We built roaring fires, whittled, searched for snakes, identified plants, and even tried navigating with compasses! Of course, we also had time for lots of games and cooling off in the creek.

Survive & Thrive Photo Gallery
From shelter building to fire making to navigating with compasses, our campers learned how to not only survive in the forest, but thrive too! We saw cool critters in the creek, raced through the forest, and developed friendships along the way.

Bushcraft Bonanza Photo Gallery
Schoolhouse has a long tradition of passing down wilderness survival skills to our campers. Throughout this week we practiced fire building, shelter construction, and other outdoor skills! Whether campers started the session just getting interested in survival skills or were ready to live off the land, this week was a blast!
