This week in camp could be summed up in three W’s – Water, Whittling, and Working together!
Water: The kids this week really enjoyed water, so we visited some amazing water spots. On Friday, thanks to Mathew and an epic rainy 4 elements themed scout mission, they chose two elements to protect, and got a little wet in the process! Whittling: A lot of former whittling basics campers shared their knowledge and advice with new campers regarding the art of whittling. Working together: They loved collaborating. Whether it was building a bridge, creating earth art, making forts or making up stories and games. We had a great week!

Last Week in Brumley Outdoor Survival Adventure

Myths, Legends, & Tall Tales Photo Gallery September 26-30, 2016
This week at Myths, Legends, and Tall Tales camp, we did lots and lots and lots of storytelling! We made up our own stories, including a pretty epic scout mission story. We had fun designing/creating miniature worlds and finding lots of fungi, crayfish and snakes. We kept our own journals as well! What do we do to end the week when it rains on friday? S’mores, stories, tarp/picnic table forts and play games, of course!
Old Timey Adventures Photo Gallery September 19-23, 2016
We had a great time in Old Timey Adventures camp this week! We did a lot of Old Timey things such as knot tying, plant identification, fire-building, whittling, canoeing, fishing, learning to play marbles and we heard a lot of old timey folk tales. We found several turtles and a red eft this week as well! To top it off, we participated in a service project which assisted the Harris Lake Park Staff in building Japanese stilt grass monsters in preparation for their Haunting at Harris event! We had a tough group, and the rain didn’t stop us!
