Last Week in Brumley Outdoor Survival Adventure

Last week was a busy adventure in Brumley Forest! Campers learned strategies for finding water, lighting fires, building shelter, and identifying edible plants. Soaking up dew, building solar stills, experimenting with quartz and steel strikers, making debris huts, nibbling wood sorrel and sipping on pine needle tea were some of the highlights. With our smaller group we were able to try our hands at throwing hatchets and shooting bows and arrows. Creek exploration and games like Eagle Eye, Dragon’s Egg, and Kick the Can filled our remaining time. Even with the cool weather we were able to catch three different kinds of snakes. Our week was a real blast!
