Intersession and School Break Camps

At this time, we’re focused on our summer season. Check back later for updates on Intersession & School Break Camps.

We offer week-long intersession camps, school break camps, and single day camps at our Orange County site.

We offer a variety of spring and fall programming at Brumley Forest Nature Preserve, located just south of NC-10 on New Hope Church Road. Come explore the forests, wade in the creeks, look for animals, play games, and build forts in a beautiful setting with leaves changing in the forest and beavers swimming in the pond. Week-long camps have varying themes where skills such as fire-building, plant identification, animal tracking, or nature art. Discovery Days combine classic Schoolhouse elements such as building forts, playing games in the forest, and exploring the creek. Fall is an awesome time to be outside and we hope your child will be able to spend their break outside with us!

Every Schoolhouse program provides a unique environment of kindness, respect, and learning. Our themes vary each week, but they’re all nature-based and are inspired by our underlying values. Our award winning camps offer a low camper-to-staff ratio that allows a sense of freedom while providing a safe and nurturing environment. Campers, Counselors-in-Training, and Staff can also challenge themselves to grow and learn by earning “Growth Rings” in areas like fire making, whittling, plant lore, and snake identification and handling.

Oh, and by day’s end, we’ll return your kids dirty, tired, and happy. Guaranteed.

Types of Camps

These are the award-winning Schoolhouse of Wonder camps you know and love — a unique environment of kindness, respect, learning, and nature-based outdoor adventures where your child can make new friends and learn new skills.
As many of you know, our team of instructors make Schoolhouse special. Many organizations only hire instructors for summer which limits who can work with them. Yet, along with our wonderful seasonal staff, we have worked to hire, train, and support a year-round staff of professional mentors and educators. As a result, we are excited to take a few of our classic camps to a heightened level of fun and adventure this summer!
Extending our outdoor adventures to sunset and beyond is a favorite of our campers and staff alike! Overnight camps offer a unique one-night opportunity to grow in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment. Our overnight camps are held rain or shine and offer an array of extraordinary experiences that can range from cooking over a campfire, a twilight dip in the river or creek, and a chance to sleep under the stars.

Most programs are eligible for a discount when you register for two or more programs for the same child or siblings in the same household in the same order.

You will automatically receive a $15 discount off the cost of a second and any additional camp seat purchased in the same order. This discount applies to Discovery Days and partial-week camps.

You will automatically receive a $25 discount off the cost of second and subsequent camp seats for siblings from the same household purchased in the same order.  This discount only applies to full-week camps.

Please note that it is possible to receive both of these discounts on the same order, though it is not possible to receive both of these discounts on the same camp.
