In this two-day camp we experienced some of the Best of Durham! We enjoyed the outdoor fun and adventure of deep woods and meadow games, fort building, whittling, stories and songs around the campfire and the opportunity to build our earth skills and knowledge of the natural world.

These two days were a celebration in appreciation for Brumley Forest for providing us with sticks to whittle, logs for forts, trees for hiding, and a giant hole for a silly photo opportunity!

Adventure was had as the group enjoyed a variety of activities throughout Umstead State Park. Each camper had a chance to explore a multitude of new skills and activities this week. Campers enjoyed a fun fall day of building fires, exploring the forest, finding snakes, climbing vines, and getting bitten by a taxidermy snapping turtle!

We soaked up the beautiful fall weather this week and enjoyed the best of both worlds as we sat by the fire in the morning and splashed in the creek in the afternoon! We roasted marshmallows, practice our fire making skills, whittled, made lots of friendship bracelets, and so much more.
