We had a great week exploring Umstead State Park together. We studied the life cycle of frogs and were lucky enough to see them in various phases of that life cycle while exploring the creek and forest. In addition to frogs and tadpoles, we also found a variety of spiders, some crayfish, and even got to touch a northern water snake! We rambled through the woods and built structures like forts and bridges. Many campers also worked on their skills in areas like whittling, snake identification & handling, fire-building, and plant identification. Some campers earned Growth Rings for their achievements in those areas. And of course, no camp week would be complete without a bunch of games. Six Feathers was a favorite for many campers. It was an interesting and fun week. Take a look at the photos below to see how we ended our week dirty, tired, and happy.
