Go With the Flow Photo Gallery
The changes of seasons create amazing colors and patterns all around us! Have you ever wondered why autumn is also called fall? This week we explored the changes around us as the days cooled off, the trees have started to change, and the animals begin preparing for winter. We foraged, made natural dyes, and explored what makes this time of year so special. Some folks think fall is the best time to get outside, and we wouldn’t disagree!

Eno Naturalists Photo Gallery
This week we learned how to become stewards of the Eno River and how to care for the natural world all around us. Campers made crafts out of invasive plants, worked together to beautify the park, and of course, played classic Schoolhouse games in between. We had fun and gave back to the park that we love!

Crossroads of Adventure Photo Gallery
This session our campers were characters in a story! Each day of the week, campers were presented with a new choice, puzzle, or challenge that determined that day’s adventure and added a brand new chapter to the story. Each decision changed the course of the story, with new games and activities to follow. They worked together to overcome challenges and solve puzzles as they unraveled a completely unique week!

Running, hiding, seeking, tagging, dodging, sneaking and strategizing – there were many ways to play in this fun week full of games, new and old. Campers created new games individually and as a group, tried them out, and even played them with the whole camp group! We also played some classic Schoolhouse games, some of which are from campers who created them in the past!

Best of Durham! Photo Gallery
In this two-day camp we experienced some of the Best of Durham! We enjoyed the outdoor fun and adventure of deep woods and meadow games, fort building, whittling, stories and songs around the campfire and the opportunity to build our earth skills and knowledge of the natural world.

Accuracy was the name of the game with this week of projectiles. We tried our hand at bows and arrows, tomahawks, atlatls, and spears as we took aim at learning the safety and mastery of these new skills. Campers had opportunities to use each of these projectiles on a variety of different targets and practiced their skills throughout the week.

Telling Tales & Choosing Challenges Photo gallery
We made our choices count during this week of choose-your-own-adventure. Storytelling is a big part of the Schoolhouse experience and this week the campers decided which direction the story and untamed fun went! Campers were given the opportunity to choose the games and challenges their group experienced as the weeklong story unfolded in a fun-filled week of unpredictable journeys!
