This week was full of growth rings and fun! Campers spent extra time whittling, looking for plants and snakes, and even building fires! Of course, there were still fun games and awesome creek time.

Skill Builders (Elio’s Group) (Wake – Loblolly June 16-20, 2025)

It was a fantastic week as we celebrated some of the smallest critters in the forests, ants! When not spending EXTRA time at the creek each day, campers were immersed in ant-themed activities this week, including games like Four Anthills, the Great Ant Chase, and Camouflage.

Secrets Of Umstead (Parker’s Group) (Wake – Loblolly June 23-27, 2025)

This week, campers uncovered the hidden world of nature! They made clay fossils, searched for animal tracks, and went on bug hunts. Between fort-building, creek splashing, and whittling, fun and adventure were everywhere!

Fossil (Wake – Loblolly June 30-July 3, 2025)

This week, campers practiced firebuilding, shelter construction, and plant identification! They sparked fires with natural materials, built lean-to shelters, and made pine needle tea. It was a fun-filled week of survival skills and outdoor adventure!

Wilderness Readiness (Wake – Loblolly June 30-July 3, 2025)

This week, campers swapped trails for creek adventures! They spent the days exploring hidden sections of the park, discovering critters, playing games, and finding the perfect spots to enjoy lunch—all in Umstead’s creek!

Creek Crawlers (Wake – Loblolly June 30 – July 3, 2025)

This week, campers dove into nature through fun and play, getting extra wet with some full day creek times! They explored the outdoors, searched for hidden treasure, and had a blast in the water!

Wave (Wake – Loblolly July 7-11, 2025)

This week, campers channeled their inner beaver by building dams in the creek! They learned about ecosystems, played fun games, and even felt a beaver pelt. The real challenge? Deciding which was more fun—building the dams or destroying them!

Ecosystem Engineers (Wake – Loblolly July 7-11, 2025)

This week, campers got creative, putting their own spin on the animal kingdom! After learning about the real-life animals in the woods and exploring pelts and skulls, they designed, drew, and sculpted their favorite creatures—or even their own wild, imaginative animals!
