This week, campers explored the magic of nature through their senses! They tasted sourwood leaves, felt the cool water of the creek on their skin, touched plenty of forest creatures, and more! It was a fun, sensory-filled adventure!

Bat (Wake – Loblolly July 14 – 18, 2025)

This week, campers searched for the perfect sticks to build the best forts, castles, and platforms in the park! They worked together to create huts and dens, learning knots and lashings to make their structures sturdy, while adding fun decorations to make their fortresses feel like home.

Fortress in the Forest (Zenovia’s Group) (Wake – Loblolly July 14 – 18, 2025)

This week, campers faced challenges, games, and hidden objectives that tested their teamwork! Each decision affected future games, with opportunities to earn advantages or trigger new rules. Whether they enjoyed loud running games or quiet strategy games, everyone had fun working together to succeed as a team!

Ready, Set, Game! (Group B) (Wake – Loblolly July 21 – 25, 2025)

This week, campers followed Caty the Caterpillar’s journey to becoming a butterfly! They protected her from spooky owls, helped her find the perfect spot for her chrysalis, and designed stylish butterfly wings. It was a week full of fun, creativity, and nature-filled adventures!

Chrysalis (Wake – Loblolly July 28 – August 1, 2025)

This week, campers built, floated, and raced their own miniature boats! Using natural materials, they whittled, wove, and designed their creations before testing them in the creek. It was a hands-on adventure as they watched their boats navigate the rocks and eddies of Umstead’s creeks!

Will It Float? (Wake – Loblolly July 28 – August 1, 2025)

This week, campers took fort-building to the next level, creating their own forest village! They learned new knots and lashing skills and worked on a large building project with moving parts. Along the way, they whittled, decorated, and designed flags, bringing their village to life through imagination, exploration, and hands-on fun!

It Takes A Village (Wake – Loblolly July 28 – August 1, 2025)

This week, campers buzzed with excitement as they explored the life of bees! They created bee crowns, made bumblebee crafts, and played a fun game to protect the hive from a scarecrow. It was a sweet, nature-filled adventure celebrating these amazing pollinators.
