Whispering Pines

We had a great week in the woods pretending to be dragonflies and looking all over the forest for beautiful winged creatures! We splashed in the creek, played lots of fun games, and made new friends along the way.

Dragonfly (Wake – Whispering Pines, June 29 – July 3, 2026)

We were flying high this week as we played bird-themed games, looked high in the sky with our binoculars, and made the cutest bird crafts! When we weren’t playing games or making crafts, we had a great time splashing in the creek and hearing our counselors tell fascinating stories.

Soar (Wake – Whispering Pines July 6-10, 2026)

We splashed and dashed our way through the forest this week playing our favorite games like Six Feathers and Defeat the Lich, and spending extra time at all our favorite creek spots! We found critters, splashed our friends, and had a great time on land and in the water.

Splash & Dash Group 2 (Wake – Whispering Pines July 6-10, 2026)

What an epic week of creeking, crafting, and constructing! We learned new skills to build impressive structures that put our creativity to the test. When we weren’t building, you could find us wading, splashing, and having a grand time in the creek!

Creek Construction (Wake – Whispering Pines, July 6-10, 2026)

We wiggled our way through the woods this week, searching every nook and cranny with magnifying glasses to see all the cool critters we could find! We played silly games, cooled off in the creek, and made some beautiful nature art.

Wiggle (Wake – Whispering Pines, July 13-17, 2026)

We had an epic week of clues, battles, teamwork, and woodland magic ending with digging up buried treasure and a banquet at the Queen’s table! We completed challenges together, solved mysterious riddles, and had the best week of adventuring in the woods.

Untold Tales of Umstead (Wake – Whispering Pines, July 13-17, 2026)

What an AWESOME week of teamwork, creativity, and FUN! Campers learned how to use a square lashing and worked diligently to craft bamboo rafts and sails that they got to test out in the Mystic Pool. When we weren’t rafting, you could find us playing our favorite games and going to all our best creek spots!

Row, Row, Row Your Raft (Wake – Whispering Pines, July 13-17, 2026)

It’s not often we get to send things through the air here at camp, but this week we sure did! Campers learned to throw spears with atlatls, used slingshots and played graces, and got to practice those skills in games that challenged their aim, timing, and awareness.

High Flyers (Wake – Whispering Pines, July 20-24, 2026)

This week was all about games, games, and more games! We played classic Schoolhouse favorites, experimented with different rules, and talked about what made each game fun. By the end of the week, all those ideas came together as campers created and played a brand-new game of their own!
