Our campers rocked it with the theme of the week! From throwing tomahawks, to using a cross cut saw, and learning about the camera obscura – they were intent on learning all about time in “the olden days.” They also enjoyed making (but especially eating) doughboys. On top of all that, they still found time to catch Northern Water Snakes, visit Sennett’s Hole and Secret Beach, build forts, and play a few games of Sockwars, Six Feathers, and Bum Bum Bum. Whew!
Our creative Chipmunk campers spent their week building some of the most awesome forts we’ve seen this summer! Complete with walkways, tunnels, and gardens, these detailed and creative structures provided a delightful space to play in and a unique opportunity to learn about teamwork. They also took time to cool off and enjoy the Eno River and played games like Bum Bum Bum.

We had an amazing time creating our new games! Brumley Forest was the landscape for running and tagging, strategy, rolling, and even a trial. It was incredible to see each camper’s creativity in creating and trying out new games in the forest and the field. Our fun didn’t stop there – campers got to see plenty of amazing critters including a humongous crayfish, a dobsonfly larva, salamanders, and a black rat snake. When we weren’t playing games we were cooling off in the creek with some dam building, splashing, and crayfish catching. Check our pictures to get a glimpse of what a fun week we had!
