During our Keeper of the Forest week, campers have learned about, and explored what it means to be a conservationist for our forests! We talked about the role that trees and our forests play in our lives and the effect that humans have on the environment. Campers were able to be stewards of the forests and participate in forest cleanup hikes, invasive species clearing, tending the organic garden, and installing water bars to maintain a trail. We played many traditional Schoolhouse games throughout the week, some with a conservation twist! The heat couldn’t keep us down with extra water time throughout the week too! Take a look at everything we learned and discovered during this camp week.
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, Nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” – The Lorax by Dr. Seuss.
Our Roly Poly campers enjoyed their week in the great outdoors! We played a bug version of Werewolf (a classic Schoolhouse game) and and listened to some new stories this week. In the creek, we explored every crevice and looked under every rock to find all kinds of insects and critters. Everyone found something they enjoyed doing. Take a look at the pictures and see some of the fun!
Our Kit campers spent this week exploring, building, running, sneaking, singing, splashing, and more! This group was especially good at finding critters and we were able to see tortoises, snakes, toads, turtles, and crayfish, just to name a few. We spent our days playing games, listening to stories, and cooling off in the creek. Take a look at the pictures below to see how we ended each day dirty, tired, and happy!
