June 22-26: Wilderness Wayfinders Photo Gallery
This week we learned how to find our way in the woods! Campers practiced using a compass, followed bearings, and tested their skills on mini orienteering courses throughout the forest. Between problem-solving on the trails and exploring new paths, it was an active week of navigation and adventure.

This week was all about challenge and choice! Campers pushed themselves to earn Growth Rings by practicing their firebuilding skills, whittling butterknives, and learning how to identify plants and snakes! It was a hands-on week of challenges, practice, and growth.

What a turtle-y awesome week! We learned all about our shelled friends during Turtle Shell Show and Tell, played a great game of Turtle Tag, and made some cute turtle crafts! When we weren’t having turtle-time we were building forts, playing in the creek, and finding lots of hidden treasures in the woods.
June 22-26: The Science of Schenck Forest Photo Gallery
Our young scientists wondered, investigated, and explored everything that Schenck Forest has to offer this week. We searched for macroinvertebrates in the creek, invasive species of plants on the land, and investigated water and soil all over the forest. We played as hard as we studied, and the whittling projects they created were especially epic with this group!

Our campers had a blast in this game packed week! They explored many parts of the woods and played classic Schoolhouse games with some fun twists. After adventuring through the forest, they cooled off by splashing in the river. They also built some awesome forts and practiced skills such as whittling.
June 22-26: Survive & Thrive Photo Gallery
Our 10-12 group survived and thrived during our overnight camp week! They trekked all over the park, exploring spots such as Secret Beach and Sennett’s Hole while staying cool by splashing in the river. Campers learned about some of the necessities for outdoor adventuring, and practiced some of their whittling and plant identification skills.
June 15-19: Making the Map Photo Gallery
Our group of trailblazers this week had a wonderful time exploring the forest and splashing in the river! Using their map they trekked out to one of our hidden water spots- Secret Beach. They learned how to use a compass, played lots of epic games and even made friends with a heron, snakes, and a few turtles in the woods!

These campers took to the skies this week! From cloudgazing and birdwatching to racing through the fields in Six Feathers, we did it all. Check out these photos to see if any of our kites caught the wind! Time flies when you’re having fun, and this week absolutely flew by.
