Gnarly Stump and Turtle camp kids went hard and fast this week with their excitement and enthusiastic energy! Campers enjoyed playing an array of games with one another, from Werewolf, to Six Feathers, Sock Wars and Scout Mission. They delved into the theme of the week by exploring the river and creek areas along the Eno, Crooked Creek and Warren Creek. The biggest hit of all though, was the excursion for the first time this summer to Jumping Rock. Here campers had the opportunity to test their courage and skills by jumping into the Eno from this much loved location.

Woodpecker campers had a delightful week! They played games like Sock Wars, Bum Bum Bum, and Park Ranger. They explored the trails and woods near their camps, searching for critters and building forts. They also took the opportunity to cool off in the creeks and river during these hot summer days.
Our Growth Rings campers had an exciting and unique week. In addition to Schoolhouse classics like playing Windigo and splashing around in the river and creeks, our campers stretched themselves and learned new things. Whether focusing on honing their whittling skills, learning to make primitive fires, identifying plants, or hunting for snakes, the campers experienced a week of activities that highlighted some of the things we love to do here at Schoolhouse of Wonder. It was a great week!

Our creative Chipmunk campers spent their week building some of the most awesome forts we’ve seen this summer! Complete with walkways, tunnels, and gardens, these detailed and creative structures provided a delightful space to play in and a unique opportunity to learn about teamwork. They also took time to cool off and enjoy the Eno River and played games like Bum Bum Bum.
Our campers rocked it with the theme of the week! From throwing tomahawks, to using a cross cut saw, and learning about the camera obscura – they were intent on learning all about time in “the olden days.” They also enjoyed making (but especially eating) doughboys. On top of all that, they still found time to catch Northern Water Snakes, visit Sennett’s Hole and Secret Beach, build forts, and play a few games of Sockwars, Six Feathers, and Bum Bum Bum. Whew!
