July 20-24: Wonders of the Water Photo Gallery
Campers hiked out to Richland Creek and through the rainy forest to explore and learn each day this week! While we tested water quality and searched for signs of critters, we also spent lots of time splashing and playing. In the creek, on the land, and in the shelter, this week was a blast!

Campers had a splashing time at camp this week! They enjoyed extra time in the creek skipping rocks and looking for crawfish. Campers spent time working on their whittling and their fort building skills and of course playing some classic Schoolhouse games like Werewolf and Kick the Can!

It’s not often we get to send things through the air here at camp, but this week we sure did! Campers learned to throw spears with atlatls, used slingshots and played graces, and got to practice those skills in games that challenged their aim, timing, and awareness.

This week was all about games, games, and more games! We played classic Schoolhouse favorites, experimented with different rules, and talked about what made each game fun. By the end of the week, all those ideas came together as campers created and played a brand-new game of their own!

The creek was our favorite place to be this week! Campers waded in to catch crayfish, watched them scuttle under rocks, and learned what makes them such interesting little neighbors. We played crawdad-themed games and even made our own baybugs out of paper bags to take home! Between splashing, games, and seeing yabbies close up, the creek kept us busy all week long.

Campers had a great time mixing things up this week! Campers got to play never played before games like Defeat the Can and Six Socks. They also spent time being creative and making their own Frankenstein! When we weren’t mixing it up, they spent time whittling, fort building, and splashing in the creek.
