We spent the week exploring the wild world of animals – big, small, furry, and even a little creepy-crawly! We searched the forest high and low for all the colors we could find this week and even came home with some cute nature art! The highlight of our week was playing Rainbow Tag, finding beautiful natural treasures, and catching critters at the creek!
June 15-18: Whittling & Woodcraft Photo Gallery
Whittling will always be an important Schoolhouse of Wonder tradition and is often our campers’ favorite activity. This camp gave kids a chance to practice this timeless tradition while also exploring other woodcraft techniques and styles. We worked on our whittling “Growth Rings,” learned about woodworking tools, and even tried our hand at making awesome creations campers could bring home.
June 15-18: Eagle Photo Gallery
Campers experienced the magic and wonder of nature through creativity and play! This fun-filled week for our younger campers was a wonderful introduction to the outdoors. We soared through the forest in eagle-themed games, jumped into the water with big splashes, and constructed stick forts to relax in when it was time to rest. This magical week was filled with stories, and campers imagined themselves flying through the trees and becoming one with the forest.
June 15-19: Otter Photo Gallery
Experience the magic and wonder of nature through creativity and play! This fun-filled week for our youngest campers was a wonderful introduction to experiencing the outdoors. This week was all about play and laughter as we followed the curious Otter! Campers explored Stoney Creek, slid down the muddy banks, and worked together to build “otter dens” while learning about life along the water’s edge.
June 15-19: Projectiles Pandemonium! Photo Gallery
This week was all about projectiles! From tomahawks, to spears and atlatls, to bows and arrows, we learned to use projectile weapons in a way that was safe, responsible, and effective. We also used whittling and other tools and techniques to make projectiles of our own!
