The forest was our canvas this week in Wild Arts camp! With sticks, leaves, and rocks as our main media, we explored what it meant to create with nature. We learned from the best like Andy Goldsworthy, and went on to create our own masterpieces such as nature sculptures, survival bracelets, negative space paintings, and more! But even the best artists need a break for some river time in the summer heat, and we enjoyed all the usual Schoolhouse activities from rainy-day Six Feathers to Windigo, snake catching and more! Here’s a glimpse at all the fun, muddy, and creative adventures we had!
Rain or shine, we played our hardest this week at Poplar camp! When the rain came, we got to explore some historic buildings around the park and enjoy arts and crafts. But as soon as the sunshine returned, we explored outside to find creatures, splash in the river, and run through the woods. We turned over logs to find insects, listened to the birds way up in the trees, and even got to see (and touch!) snakes and turtles. It was a week of play and big adventures for our Poplar campers. Check out the photo gallery to see some of the fun!

Though the days were few, the adventures were many! Our two-day week was filled with games, laughter, and forest excursions for campers of every age. While our 8-12 year old campers tackled the art of archery, our 5-7 year old campers explored the forest. And of course, all of our campers enjoyed splashing in the river and learning how to Play With Honor in some favorite Schoolhouse games. Check out this mini photo gallery from our mini camp week!
What a full, full week filled with fun in Catfish camp! Turtles, northern water snakes, butterflies, cicadas, and more were all found during out adventurous week. We even got to see a HUGE catfish from the river! From face paint to fort building, Sock Wars to climbing trees, this week was a total blast! Check out our photo gallery to get a peek at Catfish camp.
While we may splash in the water every day of camp, River Rangers week took water time to a whole new level! Whether fishing from our own bamboo poles, hiking along the banks of the Eno, or learning all about the creatures of the water, we explored every part of the Eno River we could find. Of course, we also spent time whittling and playing classic Schoolhouse games. Check out some photos of our week!
