At Schoolhouse of Wonder, archery in the forest is one of our favorite things to do! This week, we finally enjoyed some real autumn weather on our woodland target range, as we shot at block targets, balloons, homemade plate targets, and a swinging bag. We also got to explore the mysteries of the forest on a rainy day, play a few games like Kneecoup and Werewolf, and tell some stories along the way.  We hope you enjoy these fun pictures from Fall Archer Camp.

What better way to welcome the fall season than by running and jumping through the woods with friends? We did plenty of that during this year’s Woodland Gamer Camp! We played as many different games as we could squeeze in, and after each game was over we processed through it in a respectful group discussion to try and figure out how to improve ourselves for the next one. Highlights included Windigo, Six Feathers, Bum Bum Bum, Sock Wars, and Werewolf. We also enjoyed some of the last warm days of the year by splashing around the the Eno River every afternoon. This wonderful week of fall camp was truly a blast from the past. We built our Old Timey Village deep in the woods and it included many imaginative structures – a bakery, a doctor’s office, a trading post, and even a hiking stick emporium! We also found time to throw some hatchets, do some crosscut sawing, and roast some good old-fashioned doughboys over the campfire (complete with cinnamon and hand churned butter). Water time at the Eno River was also a favorite this week, and we found lots of aquatic critters including water snakes, crayfish, and an old one-eyed snapping turtle!
