If you’re wondering what your camper has been up to this week, here are some questions to get the conversation started…
- Although we do not have bears in this area, hanging a bear bag is a useful skill when backpacking in other areas of the state and country. How do you hang a bear bag? What do you put in the bear bag? Why do we not have bears in this area?
- The group set up a tent and tarp shelter today that were very different from the tent that they set up on Tuesday. What were the differences? Which one would you use camping? Backpacking? In an emergency?
- Throughout the week we have participated in a variety of activities besides backcountry adventure activities. We have heard stories, built forts, played games, whittled, and made a couple of crafts. What was your favorite activity that was not theme related? Why was it your favorite?
