We began our 2017 summer with cool temperatures and incredible teamwork. Wilderness Survival campers learned skills such as how to identify edible plants, build a shelter, start a fire using a steel striker and whittle useful tools. In addition to their new survival skills, favorite moments from the week included participating in an epic game of Six Feathers and watching a northern water snake eat a catfish!

Brumley Forest was the perfect place for our Roaming the Wild camp! Our adventurers had fun exploring and playing in some brand new areas of Brumley. We learned all about compasses, maps, and even navigated our way, off trail, to a brand new creek spot! We saw plenty of animals during the week including crayfish, turtles, and a unique find of a dead rough green snake (they turn blue when they’re dead!). Games were a hit with Beckon, Eagle Eye, Scout Mission, and a big game of Six Feathers. Check out our pics to see the inside scoop from Roaming the Wild Camp!
Our Orange summer season started with a great week in Caterpillar camp! We saw plenty of critters including snakes (red-bellied and northern water snakes), turtles, frogs, crawfish, and … of course some caterpillars! We saw some fantastic fort building with some great teamwork and played plenty of games including some Schoolhouse favorites like Dragon’s Egg, Scout Mission (played with a scientist collecting caterpillars, eggs, and butterflies), and Six Feathers. Creek time was a great way to stay cool and have fun. Check out our photos from Caterpillar camp to see more about our great week!
