If you’re wondering what your camper has been up to this week, here are some questions to get the conversation started…

The blue heron is a large bird native to North Carolina that loves to hunt and play by the water, the latter it has in common with our campers. How have you camper liked your time in the creek? Are you more excited to seek and find crayfish or aid in the efforts to build a dam?

So far this week, two of our big games have both been hiding games where campers get a chance to go out into the woods and find the best place to stay away from and then free their friends from the “monster” counselor who is it. Where do you like to hide? Do you hide alone or with your friends? What strategies do you use to help your friends in games?

This morning, we got a chance to start on some forts, the “nests” for our Heron group! Were you more of an architect who helped with the building or an engineer, thinking of and foraging for the materials needed to build? What plans do you have for your fort?
