Our Hummingbird campers had an exciting time at Umstead State Park this week! We learned about different bird calls and hung hummingbird feeders to help us spot our tiny, flitting friends. We explored the forest and were able to see tons of new fungus, thanks to all the recent rain. We got to touch snakes, build forts, whittle sticks, and play a few classic Schoolhouse games. But the biggest hit of all was water time. We used nets to catch critters, built houses and ponds for the minnows and crayfish, and splashed around. Take a look at the photos below to see how we ended our week dirty, tired, and happy!
