While some folks may have said this week was too cold for camp, our campers out at Brumley Forest found the weather to be perfect for building a fire and grilling up some flapjacks! In addition to learning and practicing basic fire-building skills, our young chefs perfected some old recipes like snakes, pine needle tea, and pita pizzas. They also tried some new things, like chocolate cake cooked in orange peels and the very-popular baked s’mores cake. In between cooking sessions, we managed to fit in a few classic Schoolhouse games like Dragon’s Egg, Beckon, and Scout Mission. We also explored some new climbing-trees, built forts, and found some critters, including a worm snake. Check out the pictures below to catch a small glimpse of our big week.
