We traveled back in time for this week of spring camp! Campers got to try their hand at pioneer skills like throwing tomahawks, whittling, and churning butter. We also got to play plenty of games – both Schoolhouse and pioneer style. Playing marbles was a huge hit this week, as were ‘hoop and dart’ and ‘graces.’ We also tried our hand at making corn husk dolls. Campers made some awesome characters including athletes, Wilma Rudolph, Indiana Jones, and many more. The rest of our time was filled with fort and log cabin building, imaginative free play, looking for critters, and braving the cold creek water to explore, splash, and play. It was a great pioneer week at Brumley Forest!
